FA Šiauliai have officially announced the signing of promising 18-year-old Lithuanian forward Nedas Garbaliauskas, who has been turning heads this season with his performances for BFA in Lithuania’s second division, the TOPsport Pirma Lyga.

Garbaliauskas arrives in the city of Šiauliai from the capital, where he spent the bulk of his youth career developing within the Baltic Football Academy—a well-regarded institution currently competing in Lithuania’s second tier. Originally from Mažeikiai, he moved to Vilnius at the age of 12 to pursue his footballing education.

No stranger to international football, Garbaliauskas has been a regular fixture in Lithuanian youth national teams. Notably, two years ago he also spent a year in Italy, honing his skills in the youth setup of Serie A club Genoa, gaining invaluable experience in a top European football environment.

This season, the young striker has already scored nine goals in league play and was recently recognized as the TOPsport Pirma Lyga Young Player of the Month, underlining his attacking prowess and potential.

“I’m truly happy to join the team,” said Garbaliauskas in his first words as a Šiauliai player. “The communication with the club has been excellent from the beginning, and I felt a strong sense of trust from both the management and the coaching staff. It also helped that Šiauliai is a club with a strong Lithuanian identity, which really resonated with me and influenced my decision.”

He also expressed deep gratitude to the Baltic Football Academy for shaping his career so far:

“Thanks to them, I grew up in the right environment and had the opportunity to integrate into senior football. I wish them nothing but continued success.”

Looking ahead, Garbaliauskas has clear ambitions:

“In the coming years, I hope to help Šiauliai reach all of its goals and return to European competition. To the entire community, I promise to give everything I have—no matter what. See you at the stadium!”

FA Šiauliai have confirmed that Garbaliauskas has signed a long-term contract and will wear the number 83 shirt for the remainder of the season.
