Lithuanian top-flight side FK Panevėžys has quickly found a replacement for departing striker Pavle Radunović. Stepping into his shoes is fellow Serbian forward Marko Bačanin, who has signed a contract with the club until the end of the 2026 season.

The 27-year-old Bačanin brings with him a wealth of experience from his home country, having played for several Serbian teams including Vojvodina Novi Sad, Javor Ivanjica, Radnički 1912 Sombor, Omladinac Novi Banovci, Smederevo 1924, Napredak Kruševac, Železničar Pančevo, and Sloboda Užice.

Bačanin has also tested himself internationally, featuring for clubs in Greece, Slovenia, Finland, and Malta. His stints abroad include time with Chania (Greece), Tabor Sežana (Slovenia), Haka (Finland), and most recently, Balzan FC (Malta), from which he joined Panevėžys.

The new signing will wear the number 16 jersey and offered his first official comments to the club’s website.

“I would describe myself as a forward with technical skills and a knack for scoring goals. I’m a leader on and off the pitch. I respect the scale of FK Panevėžys as a club. From what I’ve seen and heard, they’ve made big strides over the last 5–6 years and are now among the top 3–4 clubs in Lithuania.

I’m happy to be here and excited for the opportunity to help bring the team back to the top of the league. I’m highly motivated by the chance to play in European competitions and compete for trophies. I want to thank the Panevėžys management for their trust. I hope to create many great moments, achievements, and memories for this club,” said Bačanin.

Panevėžys’ next match is scheduled for Monday, July 14, when they travel to face DFK Dainava Alytus in the 20th round of the Lithuanian A Lyga.
