Vilnius Žalgiris striker Nikola Petkovic has been named Toplyga’s Player of the Month for the combined June-July period after a prolific run that saw him climb to the top of the league’s scoring charts.

Petkovic received the award following a vote by commentators, podcast hosts and club captains, organised by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) in cooperation with Toplyga. During the two-month period, the Serbian striker scored six goals and provided one assist in six league appearances.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed an impressive comeback season after missing almost the entire 2025 campaign through a serious injury. He has scored a league-leading 11 goals in 24 Toplyga matches, while also netting six times in six UEFA Conference League qualifying appearances. Despite Žalgiris’ elimination, Petkovic remains the competition’s leading scorer in this season’s qualifiers.

Sūduva head coach Donatas Vencevičius was voted Manager of the Period after leading his side through an unbeaten six-match stretch, recording four wins and two draws to move the club to the top of the table.

The Young Player of the Month award went to Banga midfielder Sidas Praleika. The 19-year-old featured in all six league matches during the period, contributing one goal.
