Soomets plays full match as Kolding earn second league win

Markus Soomets played the full match as Kolding beat Vendsyssel 2-1 at home to claim their second win of the Danish second-tier season. The result extended Kolding’s unbeaten run to four matches, following three successive draws.

It was Karl Marius Aksum’s second game as head coach and his first victory since taking charge during the international break. Soomets, who came on as a substitute in the previous match, returned to the starting line-up.

Kolding climbed two places to eighth in the 12-team table. They have won two, drawn six and lost three of their 11 matches. Their next fixture is against fourth-placed AB Copenhagen.

Soomets joined Kolding in August and has featured in every match since the fifth round, starting five times and appearing as a substitute twice. He has also recorded one assist.
