DSC Arminia Bielefeld has announced the signing of Latvian striker Roberts Uldriķis. The 26-year-old joins the German club from Greek Super League side Athens Kallithea. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
Uldriķis began his professional career in Latvia at FK Metta and FC RFS before moving Switzerland’s FC Sion, then to SC Cambuur in the Netherlands, where he made a significant impact. Over two seasons in the Dutch first and second divisions, the striker scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists in 88 competitive matches. His move to Athens Kallithea last summer saw him feature in 15 games in the Greek Super League, though he managed just one goal.
Uldriķis, who stands at an imposing 1.98 meters, brings a wealth of international experience, having earned 55 caps for the Latvian national team, scoring eight goals.
The Latvian striker expressed his excitement about joining Arminia:
“The people in charge at Arminia Bielefeld convinced me of their idea and their plan based on it in our intensive discussions and with their strong efforts. They showed me exactly what role they intended for me, and I can identify with that one hundred percent. I’m sure that I can bring my qualities to the team and I’m looking forward to attacking in the 3rd division with a lot of commitment, work, and passion and contributing to the team’s success.”
Sporting Director Michael Mutzel on Roberts Uldriķis:
“Roberts is an assertive striker with experience who can immediately help our team in the centre of the attack. With his determined, robust style of play, his finishing ability, and his understanding of the game, he fits exactly into our requirement profile, which we have defined again after the first half of the season. We are happy that we were able to inspire him for the path we have shown and are sure that he will integrate into our team very quickly,”
