Narva Trans have strengthened their attack by signing Spanish forward Yenerey Betancor as they continue their fight to avoid relegation from the Premium liiga.
The 24-year-old was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and developed in the youth systems of UD Las Palmas and CD Tenerife. He later played for Panadería Pulido and CD Guijuelo in Spain before moving to Andorra, where he represented FC Ordino and FC Santa Coloma. Betancor scored seven goals for Santa Coloma last season, finishing joint-fourth in the Andorran league’s scoring charts.
The forward will wear shirt number 24. Trans are seven points behind ninth-placed Kuressaare before this weekend’s fixtures and will host fifth-placed Tartu Tammeka on Sunday evening.
The club pulled off a surprise win over Nõmme Kalju in the Estonian Cup during the week to reach the last 16. Since David Campana was appointed head coach in late June, Trans have added four foreign players: goalkeeper Iker Venteo, defender Tomas Berardozzi, midfielder Wisdom Awusi and Betancor.
