Premium Liiga round 13 delivered a major surprise in Narva, where JK Narva Trans ended their disastrous seven-match losing streak with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Paide Linnameeskond.

Paide arrived heavily weakened, missing several key players through suspension and injury, including Ebrima Jarju, Henri Anier, Modou Sohna and Victor Hugo. Their squad depth was thin, and that showed in a match where they failed to truly impose themselves.

The first half was tight, physical and largely short on clear chances. Trans had more set-piece moments, while Paide threatened occasionally through direct attacks, but neither goalkeeper was seriously tested before the break.

The second half belonged more to the home side. Narva pushed higher, won a series of corners and gradually began to look like the team more likely to find a winner. Paide, meanwhile, struggled badly in attack and did not force a single save from Daniil Pareiko.

The decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time. Denis Poliakov struck a free-kick against the crossbar, and German Šlein reacted quickest in front of goal to turn the rebound into the net.

For Trans, it was a badly needed emotional release – ending both a month-long goal drought and a run of seven straight defeats. Meanwhile Paide, it was another painful setback, their second consecutive loss, as their season continues to slide in worrying fashion.
