MFA Žalgiris have appointed Indian coach and performance analyst Shivam Chopra to Vadim Carabetchi’s staff for the new season.

Chopra holds a UEFA B licence and has studied in the United Kingdom, completing a master’s degree in sports analytics and an undergraduate coaching qualification. He previously worked alongside Carabetchi at Chelsea’s academy in London.

At MFA Žalgiris, Chopra will combine assistant-coach duties with analysis work for the senior side. He will also oversee development work with the club’s younger players and lead statistical analysis for MFA Žalgiris B, who compete in the Women’s Pirma Lyga.

I’m a football coach and a sports analysis specialist. My strength is combining work on the pitch with high-level tactical and data-led analysis,” Chopra said. “For me, coaching and analysis go together. The key is turning complex match data and video into simple, practical ideas for training. That helps players understand why we do things and improves performance and decision-making.”

Chopra said the move was an easy decision, pointing to the club’s ambitions in a growing women’s game. “The chance to join MFA Žalgiris immediately caught my attention because of the club’s clear ambition and vision,” he said. “I wanted to be part of a professional European football environment and test myself in a competitive, high-level setting.”

MFA Žalgiris’ next match is an away fixture against TransInvest on 4th April in the fourth round of the Lithuanian Women’s A Lyga.
