SK Super Nova secured a valuable 2-1 away win over FK Tukums 2000 in the final match of the Tonybet Virslīga third round, with defender Mārcis Ošs proving the difference with two first-half goals.

The visitors took control early through set pieces, opening the scoring in the 15th minute. A corner delivery from Facundo Garcia found Ošs, who powered a header into the net to give Super Nova the lead.

Just ten minutes later, the same man struck again. Following a free-kick situation, Tukums goalkeeper Ivans Baturins managed to parry the initial effort, but Ošs reacted quickest to the rebound and fired home from close range to double the advantage.

Super Nova continued to threaten, with Valerijs Lizunovs and Ošs both going close before the break, while Tukums struggled to convert their early set-piece opportunities.

The second half saw a shift in momentum. Tukums came out with renewed intensity and nearly pulled one back immediately, as Leoni Gastaldelo struck the post just moments after the restart.

As the half progressed, Super Nova goalkeeper Sergejs Vilkovs was called into action multiple times, denying efforts from Rūdolfs Reingolcs and Ede Oloko as the hosts pushed forward.

The breakthrough for Tukums finally came in the 78th minute. Substitute Raivis Ķiršs, who had just entered the pitch, found the rebound inside the box and finished clinically into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 and set up a tense finale.

The closing stages were filled with pressure from the home side. Chances fell to Leoni Gastaldelo, whose efforts were blocked or missed the target, while Helvijs Joksts fired wide from distance in stoppage time.

Despite late corners and sustained attacking pressure, Super Nova held firm. Vilkovs remained composed between the posts, and the visitors managed to see out the final minutes to secure all three points.

The victory marks Maksims Rafaļskis’ first win as Super Nova head coach, while Tukums are left frustrated after a spirited second-half comeback fell just short.
