Liepāja have confirmed the signing of 21-year-old Portuguese left winger Afonso Leite.
Leite arrives with recent experience in Portugal’s U23 competition, having spent the past two seasons with Braga’s U23 side. In the 2025-26 campaign he made 19 appearances, scoring once and collecting two yellow cards.
The wide player has also come through the youth systems at Oliveirense and Porto, and featured for Porto’s B team. He made one appearance in the UEFA Youth League in 2022-23 and has played three friendly matches for Portugal at under-17 level.
Liepāja’s next match is in Europe, with the club due to face Austria Wien at Sloka Stadium on 23rd July in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League second qualifying-round tie. Their next Virslīga fixture follows on Sunday, away to Jelgava.
Liepāja are fifth in the Virslīga standings with 28 points from 22 matches.
