FCI Levadia Tallinn remained the only unbeaten team in the Premium Liiga after edging Tartu JK Tammeka 2-1 away from home in Matchday 8.
Levadia started strongly and took the lead inside seven minutes. A short free-kick routine on the left ended with Enock Otoo finding space and drilling a precise shot into the far corner, leaving Tammeka goalkeeper Lapa with no chance.
From there, the visitors largely controlled the first half. Levadia pressed high, forced Tammeka into mistakes in build-up, and created a number of promising situations around the box. Tammeka struggled to establish rhythm and were mostly limited to speculative long-range efforts. Levadia did have the ball in the net once more before the break, but Tambedou’s finish was ruled out for handball after a VAR review.
Tammeka improved after halftime and showed more attacking ambition, but Levadia still looked the more dangerous side. Their second goal came in the 72nd minute when Frank Liivak threaded a ball through the middle for Bubacarr Tambedou, who rounded the goalkeeper and finished to make it 2-0.
That seemed to put the game beyond the hosts, but Tammeka responded three minutes later. After a set piece and a scramble in the area, Pedro Manoel forced the ball over the line to cut the deficit to 2-1 and set up a nervy finish.
The closing stages brought pressure from the home side, but Levadia managed the final minutes well enough to hold on for all three points. Tammeka were livelier after the break and made things uncomfortable, yet Levadia’s first-half dominance ultimately proved decisive.
With the win, Levadia preserved their unbeaten record, while Tammeka were left to regret another slow start.
