Estonia captain Karol Mets made his first start for Bochum as they secured their first win of the new German second-tier season with a 1-0 victory away at Eintracht Braunschweig.
The 33-year-old defender last week in the opening match of the season came on to the field at the start of the second half, but today the defender started from the first minutes.
Bochum’s winner came in the 18th minute through Philipp Hofmann. Koji Miyoshi slid a pass into the striker, who dribbled past centre-back Kevin Ehlers before firing into the bottom-right corner.
The visitors holded on to their first win of the season with Karol Mets playing the entire match.
Bochum return to action on Sunday in the first round of the German Cup away to Greuther Fürth, before resuming league duty at home to Osnabrück on Friday, 28 August.
