Just days after being unveiled as an Inter Milan player, Latvian goalkeeper Roberts Apsīts has already secured his first move away from the Serie A champions, joining Serie C side Campobasso FC on loan for the remainder of the season.

Inter confirmed in an official statement that the agreement includes an option to buy for Campobasso, while the Nerazzurri retain a buy-back clause.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper earned a long-term contract with Inter earlier this week after impressing the club during a trial at the beginning of the summer. He arrived at the trial on the back of an outstanding season with Serie D side Virtus Francavilla, where he made 23 league appearances, kept 10 clean sheets and conceded just 24 goals.

Campobasso welcomed the Latvian by describing him as one of Europe’s most promising young goalkeepers. In the club’s official announcement, they called the transfer “a highly prestigious operation”, adding that it demonstrates “the credibility and ambition of the Campobasso project, even in the eyes of one of the most important clubs in world football.”

A product of Valmiera Football School, Apsīts moved to Italy during the second half of 2024, initially joining Serie D side Gelbison before signing for Virtus Francavilla.

Apsīts has yet to represent Latvia at youth international level. He will now spend the 2026/27 season at Campobasso in Serie C, where he will look to gain regular first-team experience.
