FK Žalgiris’ first home match of the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League campaign attracted significant television viewership, underlining the growing interest in the club’s European journey.
Following the success of the first qualifying round, TV3 will also broadcast Žalgiris’ upcoming away fixture against Dinamo Tbilisi in Georgia.
On July 16, Žalgiris hosted Montenegro’s Petrovac in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round. The Lithuanian champions secured a 2-1 victory, advancing 5-2 on aggregate to reach the next stage of the competition.
Ahead of kick-off, TV3 aired a special live pre-match programme, Green and White Studio, which achieved a 2.3% television rating.
The match itself was played in front of a sold-out crowd, with every ticket for the home fixture snapped up well before kick-off. The live broadcast from Vilnius attracted 198,000 viewers, delivering a 12.5% audience share and a 2.4% rating. It marked the highest television rating for a Lithuanian club football match in the past five years.
“The first UEFA match of the season in Vilnius created a truly special atmosphere, with a packed stadium and incredible support from our fans,” said Žalgiris President Andrius Tapinas. “Selling out the stadium shows that demand exceeded capacity, while the strong television audience demonstrates that football supporters across Lithuania are eager to follow Žalgiris’ European campaign.”
Fans will be able to continue following the club’s UEFA Conference League journey on TV3 after the broadcaster reached an agreement to air Žalgiris’ second qualifying round tie against Georgia’s Dinamo Tbilisi.
The first leg will take place in Tbilisi on Thursday, July 23, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 Lithuanian time. The match will be broadcast live on TV3 television and streamed via TV3.lt.
