FA Šiauliai have completed the signing of Harun Hadžibeganović, with the 24-year-old full-back arriving from Bosnian side FK Sloboda Tuzla ahead of the second half of the season.
Hadžibeganović spent the majority of his career with Sloboda, gaining valuable experience in both the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During his time with Sloboda’s first team, the defender made 100 official appearances, scoring two goals and providing nine assists. Last season, he registered two goals and four assists in 23 league matches, while the previous campaign saw him feature in the Bosnian top flight, where he contributed two assists in 21 appearances. He has also represented the Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 national team.
Speaking after completing his move, Hadžibeganović expressed his excitement about joining the Lithuanian club.
“This is a big club that has achieved a lot over the past few years. I was looking for a new challenge, and FA Šiauliai felt like the perfect place to take the next step in my career.
I’ve already had my first training session, and my initial impressions couldn’t have been better. Everyone has welcomed me warmly and made me feel respected and at home from day one. I’m very grateful for that.
I believe I can bring something new to the team, both on and off the pitch. I want to contribute with my energy, professionalism and respect for everyone around me, because those qualities are just as important for building a strong team spirit.
I hope we can win plenty of matches, move away from the relegation battle and finish the season in the middle of the table.
Personally, I don’t focus too much on individual goals. The team’s objectives come first. We want to have a strong second half of the season and finish as high as possible.
