Daniel Bolufer: ,,We need to be more clinical in front of goal’’
Yesterday, on the 14th October, Paide took on Tammeka in an important end of season clash in front of more than 500 spectators. Paide managed to secure a 2-1 victory at home with a late goal by Michael Lilander. Paide’s assistant manager Daniel Bolufer was happy to comment on the game for Baltic Football News.

Still, the Tartu side proved too stubborn for comfort as Paide finished the game with 13 shots on goal of which only 4 were on target creating 0.68 xG. Daniel Bolufer reflected on the match.
How would you sum up the game?
“It was a real roller coaster. The game went from one end to the other, and I think it could have gone either way. Both teams had their chances, and in the end, we’re happy to come away with the three points.”
What are you happy with and what would you like to improve?
“I’m happy with the effort the players put in and the mentality they showed until the very end. We kept fighting, and that’s important. Of course, we still need to improve in the final third, be more clinical in front of goal and finish our attacks better to avoid giving the opposition chances to counter attack.”
In the end, Tammeka had 0.98 xG of which most chances were created by counter attacking.
The fans showed up in numbers and were committed to supporting their team through the tense match. Average attendance at Paide this season is around 300 people, so over 500 spectators was a notable turn-out for the home side.
“It was great. It’s always nice to see so many people at the stadium, and we really appreciate their support” Bolufer said. “Hopefully, we can keep giving them reasons to come and watch us.”
As Paide continue to fight for the European qualification spot for next season, and only a point off Flora with a game in hand, the stakes against Tammeka were very high.
“We knew this was a big game for us, and getting these three points gives us a lot of confidence and motivation to keep fighting for second place” Bolufer concluded. “There’s still work to do, but we’ll keep pushing until the end.”
