Two toilets in the away end at A. Le Coq Arena were heavily damaged following IFK Göteborg’s visit for their match against FCI Levadia in Tallinn.
Just under 2,000 Göteborg supporters attended the fixture, but a group caused significant vandalism to stadium facilities, with one men’s and one women’s toilet in the away section left largely unusable. The damage included broken toilet bowls, suspended ceilings and cubicles, with other fixtures also affected. Urinals were left intact.
During the match, Göteborg fans displayed a banner reading “Tack Estland för infrastrukturen” (“Thank you, Estonia, for the infrastructure”). The message was reported locally as a reference to a planned act of destruction inside the stadium toilets.
There was also damage in the stands, with some seats affected and walls graffitied, although it was described as less severe than the destruction in the toilets.
The incident follows problems involving visiting Swedish supporters in Estonia last year, when AIK fans damaged property during a match against Paide Linnameeskond at Kadriorg Stadium. UEFA fined AIK €25,000 and imposed a one-match ban on selling tickets for away games, suspended for two years, plus an additional €5,000 fine linked to damage at Kadriorg.
