The 16th round of the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga got underway on the evening of June 13 in Tartu, where local side Tartu JK Tammeka claimed a narrow 2–1 victory over Harju JK Laagri in a competitive encounter.
The match started with high intensity, and it was the visitors who threatened first, as Karel Eerme tested the alertness of the Tammeka goalkeeper. However, as the game progressed, Tammeka began to assert themselves and took the lead in the 37th minute when a long throw-in deflected off a Harju player and found its way into the net.
Just seven minutes later, Tammeka doubled their lead. Ahmed Adebayo Basher combined well with a teammate inside the box and calmly finished the chance to make it 2–0 going into halftime.
Harju thought they had clawed one back early in the second half, but their goal was ruled out for offside. Their persistence finally paid off in stoppage time, when they were awarded a penalty, coolly converted by Karel Eerme in the third minute of added time. However, it proved too little too late, as Tammeka held on for the win.
With this result, Tammeka bounce back from a one-game losing streak and now sit eighth in the league with 13 points — just one behind Harju, who remain in seventh place.
