In the last two matches of Premium Liiga Matchday 5, FCI Levadia maintained their perfect start to the season with a 1:0 victory over JK Narva Trans, thanks to a penalty kick by Joao Pedro in the second half. Meanwhile, JK Tallinna Kalev secured their first win of the season by scoring four goals against Kuressaare.
FCI Levadia began the season with four consecutive wins, while Narva Trans came into the match on a two-game winning streak. Last season, Levadia triumphed over Narva in three out of four league encounters, with the remaining match ending in a goalless draw. For this game, Narva’s manager made one change to the starting lineup from the previous match against Harju, bringing Pierre Kabore back into the squad. Levadia made more adjustments, with three players—Bubacarr Tambedou, Richie Musaba, and Edgar Tur—returning to the starting XI.
The only goal of the game came in the middle of the second half when Georgian defender Shalva Burjanadze committed a clumsy tackle on substitute Mark Roosnupp. Initially, the referee allowed play to continue, but VAR intervened and the decision was overturned. Joao Pedro took the penalty and scored, giving Levadia the lead. This marked his third consecutive game with a goal.
Levadia managed to hold on for the win, continuing their flawless start to the season, while Narva Trans’s short winning streak came to an end. In their next league match, Narva Trans will host JK Tallinna Kalev, while Levadia will face Kuressaare at home on the same day.
