In the second match of the day in the Premium Liiga, JK Narva Trans capitalized on an early mistake by Harju Laagri to secure a convincing 3-0 victory away from home against the league newcomers.
Harju’s manager, Lauri Nuuma, kept the same starting lineup from their previous match, where they had won against Kuressaare before the international break. Heading into this game, Harju was on a two-game winning streak. In contrast, Narva made one change to their starting lineup: Togolese forward Josue Doke replaced Burkina Faso striker Pierre Kabore, who had scored all four of Narva Trans’s goals this season.
In the first half, Narva finally scored a goal from a player other than Kabore, as 19-year-old Estonian Egor Žuravljov took advantage of a mistake by Harju’s goalkeeper, Ivans Baturins, and scored his first-ever Premium Liiga goal in his 51st appearance in the top flight.
In the 37th minute, Narva doubled their lead thanks to a stunning goal from Mark Maksimkin, who struck the ball into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance of making a save.
Narva Trans had several opportunities to secure a third goal, and they did so at the end of the match. Ukrainian Dmytro Bondar made a run down the left side, entered the box, and passed the ball to the middle, where, unfortunately for Harju, Andreas Kaevats redirected the ball into his own goal.
With this victory, Narva Trans has now extended their winning streak to two games and has overtaken Harju JK Laagri in the league table, accumulating seven points after four matches.
Harju will aim to start another winning streak on Saturday when they travel to Pärnu to face Pärnu JK Vaprus, while Narva Trans will host the league leaders, FCI Levadia Tallinn, on the same day.
