In the opening game of Matchday 4 in the Premium Liiga, Parnu Vaprus achieved their largest victory in history in the Estonian top flight, defeating Tartu JK Tammeka 5-0 away from home. Vaprus forward Virgo Vallik scored two goals during the match.

For the first time this season, Vaprus manager included 19-year-old Tristan Pajo, on loan from FC Flora Tallinn, in the starting lineup. Tammeka made two changes to their starting lineup compared to their previous game against Kalju before the international break.

Last season, each team won one match and had two draws, which led to expectations of a close game today. However, the visiting team had other plans. In the second minute of the match, Matthias Limberg made a great run down the right side, entering the penalty area before passing to Vallik. Vallik beat the defender and redirected the ball into the goal, giving Parnu an early 1-0 lead.

In the 35th minute, Parnu extended their lead to 2-0, thanks to Vallik’s second goal. Vaprus capitalized on a mistake by Tammeka’s defense, as Tristan Pajo, who was making his first start, delivered a superb pass between defenders to find Vallik. Vallik finished confidently in a one-on-one against the goalkeeper, scoring his second goal of the season.

Two minutes later, the visitors scored their third goal after Matthias Limberg’s initial shot from a tough angle was saved by the goalkeeper. The rebound went far from the goal, and Joonas Sild took a first-time shot from outside the box, surprising Tammeka’s goalkeeper Aland, who seemed to lose track of the ball, leading to the goal.

At the start of the second half, another error by Tammeka’s defenders resulted in a goal. A cross from Henri Valja was not cleared properly, allowing Sander Kapper to score from close range, marking his first goal of the season against his former team.

As the match progressed, Tammeka’s situation only worsened as their leader, Ahmed Adebayo, received a second yellow card, resulting in his dismissal. Adebayo’s two-game scoring streak came to an end, but on the other end, Vaprus Henri Valja continued his scoring run. Valja scored Parnu’s fifth goal late in the game, marking his third consecutive league goal, bringing his season total to three after scoring only once in 34 appearances last season.

When the referee blew the final whistle, Parnu Vaprus confirmed their largest win in Estonian top-flight history and marked their second win of the season. In contrast, Tammeka remains winless in its last three matches.

In their next league match, Tammeka will face Paide Linnameeskond next Saturday, while Parnu JK Vaprus will attempt to continue their winning streak by hosting Harju JK Laagri on the same day.
