Lithuanian A Lyga club FK Banga Gargždai announced the signing of José Elo – a Spanish-born Equatorguinean centre-back.

José Elo (24) has been announced as the latest addition to FK Banga, the club announced on their social media. Joining as free agent after having been released by Finnish top-tier club AC Oulu in January, the 190cm tall central defender spent all of his career prior to moving to Finland in lower tiers of Spanish football. He has four appearances and one goal to his name with the national team of Equatorial Guinea and, whilst at Oulu in the Finnish top tier, he played 17 matches for the club over the course of last season, scoring one goal.

FK Banga, who made headlines last year by winning the Lithuanian Cup and qualifying for UEFA Europa League debut later this year, have narrowly lost the Super Cup in a penalty shoot-out to FK Žalgiris and currently find themselves in 7th place in the A Lyga table.
