Alex Tamm spoke to ERR on Estonia’s upcoming World Cup Qualification games against Israel and Moldova, expressing optimism about his team’s chances to overcome their opponents.
Speaking to Estonian National Broadcaster (ERR), the rising Olimpija Ljubljana star and winter addition Alex Tamm reflected on his experience in Slovenia thus far and commented on the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualification fixtures against Israel and Moldova.
Alex Tamm, who was last season’s Premium liiga top scorer and Player of the Year, joined Slovenian giants NK Olimpija Ljubljana in January this year. Since then, he made 7 appearances for them, scoring 4 goals and making 1 assist.
As Estonia are preparing to start their FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualification cycle with away games against Israel and Moldova, Tamm remains optimistic: “I always go into every game aiming to win. I believe both of these opponents are very manageable for us, so we have the opportunity to get a result. Both as a team and individually, these are some very good challenges for us“.
Estonia only met Israel twice before, losing both times (most recently in 2007) and Moldova five times (most recently in 2008), winning thrice, drawing once and losing once.
Estonia plays Israel on the 22nd of March and Moldova on 25th of March. The game against Israel will be held on a neutral ground, in Hungary. Both matches will be broadcast live via ERR’s sports portal and on ETV2.
