Panevėžys head coach Roland Vrabec commented on the importance of his club’s first win of the season against Sūduva for the morale of the squad, commending his team for showing discipline and aggression.

During a post-match press conference following Panevėžys first win of the season against previously undefeated Sūduva, Roland Vrabec was adamant that his team deserved to win:

We were very active, we controlled the ball and the game. We missed some chances in the first half but improved in the second half, were more aggressive, forced opponent to make mistakes and scored twice.

Vrabec admitted that losing both of the opening games, which was the worst start of the season for his club since 2020, was challenging for the morale:

It is important for all of us to win. It is difficult to work every day when you don’t have any points, to keep the players going. When you win, everything is much easier. I think our progress is very visible in the past weeks – this is just the start.

Ronald Vrabec became the second German head coach in Lithuania after joining the struggling 2023 A Lyga Champions during this off-season from Luxemborgish top tier club Swift Hesperange.

Panevėžys will play a friendly against FK Auda next week.
