In the Slovenian Prva Liga, Armandas Kučys salvaged a point for NK Celje by scoring in the third additional minute of the second half, resulting in a 2-2 draw against Primorje.
On Thursday, during the first leg of the UEFA Conference League Round of 16 match against FC Lugano, NK Celje secured a narrow 1-0 victory. With an important second leg coming up away from home on Thursday, most of the starters were rested for this league match, including Armandas Kučys.
However, there was still a Lithuanian presence in Celje’s starting lineup; Artemijus Tutyškinas started for the second consecutive league game.
Celje initially appeared to be in control with their reserve squad, leading 1-0 at halftime. However, Primorje took an unexpected lead in the second half by scoring twice.
Kučys entered the field in the 67th minute, and in the third additional minute, as Celje ramped up their offensive pressure, he found the net with a header following a cross from the left side. This goal marked his ninth of the season in 17 league matches, placing him tied for second on the top goal-scorer list.
Tutyškinas played the entire match as he received a yellow card.
Following this match, Celje remains in fifth place in the league table with 36 points after 24 games, five points behind fourth-place Koper and six points ahead of Mura.
