On the day of their Virslīga season opener, BFC Daugavpils has officially registered two FC RFS players for their squad.

The team’s fans are already familiar with one of them, Mohamed Kone, a 21-year-old Ivorian forward who initially joined the club on loan last summer. During his previous stint, Kone played 15 matches and scored four goals. Notably, he made a significant impact in the crucial final round match against FK Liepāja, which ended in a 3-3 draw, where he netted two goals.

The second addition, Ceti Tchibinda, is a less familiar name for Virslīga followers. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder from Congo has only played 35 minutes in the league so far, making his debut for RFS in the Riga Derby. However, he gained attention when he started in the Latvian Cup semi-final against Riga FC, where he played 63 minutes.

BFC Daugavpils has retained last season’s foreign players, Diedhiou and Fofana, while also adding new signings such as Williams, Murakami, and Diakite. Now, with the two loan additions from RFS, the squad is shaping up for the challenges ahead.

BFC Daugavpils will kick off their Virslīga campaign today against FK Tukums 2000, aiming for a strong start to the season.
