Flora score a late equalizer to salvage the point in the opening game

In the second game of the day during the opening round of the Estonian Premium Liiga, Tallinn FC Flora managed to secure a point against JK Narva Trans with a goal in added time, resulting in a 2:2 draw.

Tallinn FC Flora which finished fourth last year and experienced its worst season since 2016. After retiring from football, club legend Konstantin Vassiljev signed. Vassiljev has taken over the managerial position at Flora.

Meanwhile, Narva Trans also introduced a new manager, Ukrainian specialist Roman Kozhukhovskyi, who has previously managed Nomme Kalju, the Estonian U21 national team, and Kuressaare for the past five years.

Flora, under Konstantin Vassiljev’s guidance, had a promising start in the Premium Liiga. They took the lead at the end of the first half when Markus Poom delivered a corner kick that Rauno Sappinen converted into a goal.

Narva Trans, under Roman Kozhukhovskyi’s new leadership, started the second half strongly. Stanislav Agaptsev equalized in the 56th minute, and just two minutes later, Aleksandr Ivanjushin scored off a corner kick, giving Narva the lead.

Flora, determined to find an equalizer, succeeded in the fifth minute of injury time when Erko Jonne Tõugjas scored from close range in the penalty box. Shortly after the equalizer, the match was called to a close with a final score of 2:2.

Narva’s next Premium Liiga match will be against FC Kuressaare on March 8, while Flora will face Pärnu Vaprus on the same day.

The first round will conclude on Sunday with two matches: Kuressaare vs. Paide Linnameeskond and Tallinna Kalev vs. Tartu Tammeka.
