BFC Daugavpils strengthen their side with the additions of Jānis Beks and Kristiāns Kaušelis ahead of the 2025 season

BFC Daugavpils have completed the signings of Kristiāns Kaušelis and Jānis Beks ahead of the 2025 Virsliga season.

Jānis Beks has joined on loan until the end of the season from RFS. The 22-year-old Latvian goalkeeper spent the first part of the 2024 season at RFS, only appearing in RFS-2 matches.

In summer he was then was loaned out to FK Tukums for the remainder of the season, where he managed to rack up 13 appearances, keeping two clean sheets along the way.

Meanwhile, Kristiāns Kaušelis has joined on a permanent deal from FK Tukums as he makes a return to his boyhood club BFC Daugavpils.

K. Kaušelis has went back-and-forth between some Latvian clubs, also having stints at Valmiera and Super Nova before finally establishing himself as a starter for FK Tukums in the 2024 season. The 21-year-old forward scored four and assisted one goal throughout the previous season.

Both players have also made numerous appearances for Latvia youth national teams, now playing side to side for Latvia U21 national team, where together they lifted the 2024 Baltic Cup.
