In Singapore, a two-game goal streak for forward Dāvis Ikaunieks came to an end as his DPMM FC suffered a defeat in the Singapore Premier League. Meanwhile, Vladislav Gutkovskis faced a similar fate in South Korea as his club, Daejeon, lost to the defending K League 1 champions.

Premier League, Singapore

The 31-year-old striker Dāvis Ikaunieks had scored in his last two matches but was unable to find the net today. DPMM FC played an away game against one of the league leaders Tampines, where they fell 0-1. The match’s only goal came in the 61st minute when Icelandic center-back Damir Muminovic scored an unfortunate own goal.

Ikaunieks played the entire match, marking his seventh appearance and two goals since joining the club. DPMM FC currently holds 21 points from 23 games, sitting in 8th place in the league table. Their next match is scheduled for Wednesday, where they will host Hougang in league action.

K League 1, South Korea

In South Korea, Vladislavs Gutkovskis started on the bench in Daejeon’s second match of the K League 1 season, facing the defending champions, Ulsan HD. Daejeon lost 0-2, with Ulsan taking an early lead in the first half through a goal by Jae-Seok Yoon and extending their lead in the 59th minute.

Gutkovskis came on in the 83rd minute, following a brief appearance in last week’s opening match, in which he was substituted in the additional time.

Daejeon has started their season with one win and one defeat. Their next league match is on Sunday when they will host Suwon FC.
