Aberdeen entered the match riding a two-game winning streak, finally breaking their long-standing league winless record of 14 matches. Their previous victory over Dundee FC had given them newfound momentum.

Kristers Tobers once again was in the starting lineup cementing the center-back duo with Dutchman Mats Knoester. Facing off against Kilmarnock, a mid-table team, Aberdeen had high hopes. However, the first half brought some tense moments. Kilmarnock was awarded a penalty following a tackle by Tobers, but after a VAR review, the decision was overturned, providing relief to the Aberdeen fans and players alike. Just two minutes later, VAR once again intervened when Aberdeen thought they had scored through Jeppe Okkels, only for the goal to be ruled offside.

The game reached its climax at the end of the second half in the additional time when Aberdeen pulled ahead with a corner taken by Kevin Nisbet, which was converted by newly signed Palestinian forward Oday Dabbagh. This goal marked Dabbagh’s first for the club and secured Aberdeen’s third consecutive win.

In his sixth league appearance, Kristers Tobers excelled on the pitch, recording eight clearances, completing all of his long passes, and winning seven out of eight duels, including a perfect five-for-five in aerial challenges.

With this victory, Aberdeen climbed back to 3rd place in the Scottish Premiership, holding 41 points after 27 matches. Their next challenge will be a daunting away game against Celtic in Glasgow on Tuesday, following Celtic’s surprising 1-2 defeat to Hibernian—this marked Celtic’s first league loss to a non-Rangers side since last March.

Meanwhile, in Cambodia, Vitālijs Jagodinskis and Arturs Karašausks played key roles in Visakha’s Championship Group stage opener, securing a comeback 2-1 victory against Phnom Penh Crown. Karašausks started the match and played for 85 minutes before receiving a yellow card, while defender Jagodinskis, who had missed the previous two league games, came off the bench late in the game to help solidify the win.

With this important victory, Visakha has closed the gap on Phnom Penh Crown, who currently sit in second place with 51 points. Visakha now has 47 points, while league leaders Svay Rieng hold a five-point advantage but still have one game in hand.
