Two Nākotnes Līga clubs, Ogre United and Mārupes SC, have made key additions to their squads as they prepare for the upcoming season. Both teams have brought in experienced and promising players to bolster their chances in Latvia’s second tier.
Ogre United, who had already secured the signing of former Latvian international Krišs Kārkliņš earlier this winter, have now added two more players to their squad: experienced goalkeeper Dmitrijs Grigorjevs and young Ukrainian defender Tymofii Marusii.
The 32-year-old Grigorjevs brings significant experience to the team, having played 59 matches in the Virslīga. Over the years, he has represented clubs like Skonto, RFS, Jelgava, Spartaks, and Metta. Last season, he played in the Nākotnes Līga for Leevon PPK, where he made six appearances.
In addition, the club has signed 20-year-old defender Tymofii Marusii, who arrives from Mārupes SC. The young Ukrainian was a key player last season, making 23 appearances and scoring two goals.
Mārupes SC, meanwhile, have focused on strengthening their attack by bringing in former Latvia U-21 forward Kristers Lūsiņš and Ukrainian midfielder Maksym Oliinyk.
Lūsiņš, 24, has played 79 games in the Virslīga, gaining experience at clubs such as Valmiera FC, FK Metta, and SK Super Nova. His addition gives Mārupes SC a forward with proven top-division experience.
Joining him is 21-year-old Ukrainian midfielder Maksym Oliinyk, who was recently on trial at SK Super Nova but did not sign with the club. Last season, he played a crucial role for Leevon PPK, making 26 appearances and scoring nine goals. His goal-scoring ability from midfield will be a major asset for Mārupes SC as they aim to improve their attacking options.
