FS Jelgava has strengthened its squad with the addition of 24-year-old winger Ondřej Ullman, who arrives on loan from Czech top-flight club Dukla Prague. The agreement also includes an option for a permanent transfer, but also the possibility of early termination of the loan by Dukla.

Born in 2000, Ullman is a product of Dukla Prague’s academy. During the 2021/2022 season, he gained experience in Slovakia’s second division before returning to play a key role for Dukla in the Czech second tier. Last season, he was instrumental in the team’s promotion to the top division, making 27 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing four assists.

However, this season in the Czech First League has been more challenging, with Ullmann featuring in 10 matches and accumulating 333 minutes on the pitch. Seeking more game time, he has now made the move to Latvia’s top division, where he will look to make an impact with FS Jelgava.

Standing at 181 cm, Ullman becomes the second Czech player in Jelgava’s squad, joining 20-year-old goalkeeper Adam Dvořák. Sources suggest that FS Jelgava has seen a budget increase and new involvement from Czech representatives in the club’s operations.

FS Jelgava will kick off their Virslīga campaign on March 6 with an away match against FK Grobiņa.
