RFS‘ schedule for their two-week training camp in Turkey has been revealed as the Latvian champions will face this season’s UEFA Champions League participants and one of their Europa League opponents from the league phase.

On Wednesday night, RFS arrived in Antalya, Turkey, where they’ll undergo preparation for the upcoming 2025 season. During their two-week stay, the reigning Latvian champions will play five friendly games against teams from Ukraine, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.

Their opening game, on February 9, will be against Dinamo Batumi, Georgia’s first-division side, which finished fourth in the league last season.

It will be followed by what will likely be the most exciting match of their pre-season campaign as RFS will face off against the current Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk, who just this season competed in the Champions League and finished above teams such as RB Leipzig, Bologna, and Girona in the league phase.

The next day, on the 14th of February, RFS will play another Ukrainian Premier League side – Veres Rivne – who currently sit just above the relegation play-off spot in their respective league.

This training camp will also see some familiar faces for RFS as less than a month after their 1:0 loss to Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League, both sides will meet each other once again. This will be their third meeting in the space of a year, the previous two being won by Dynamo Kyiv with identical scores of 1:0.

The training camp will end with a duel against Kazakhstan side FK Atyrau, who ended their season midtable in the Kazakh Premier League.
