Italian Serie C side Rimini FC announced contract extension with Lithuanian midfielder Linas Mėgelaitis. The new deal will see former Lithuanian international with Rimini until 2027.
Linas Mėgelaitis (26), who first joined Italian Serie C club Rimini FC back in 2023, signed contract extension until 2027, according to rimininews.it portal.
During his time with the Adriatic sea club, former Lithuanian international midfielder played 68 games, providing 5 assists and earning 19 bookings. A contract extension means that Mėgelaitis will likely set a new personal record for appearances in Italy with Rimini, having previously played 69 matches for US Viterbese 1908, who are now competing in the 6th tier of Italian football pyramid.
In a comment to rimininews.lt on signing this new deal, Linas said:
I am very happy with this renewal, the club reflects me: it is ambitious, it wants to grow, to do even better than what it is doing, there is a desire to improve, this is why I decided to embrace this project. I do not deny that I have had several offers in this period but, as I was saying, I am in a club that has important plans: the new sports center where work began a few weeks ago and will soon become our home and then there is concrete talk of a new stadium. There is a desire for football so I did not have to think about it much and I am very happy to continue to be part of a journey that will become the history of this Club.
