FK Banga Gargždai has announced two new signings that will strengthen the team for the upcoming A Lyga season. It is the experienced goalkeeper Armantas Vitkauskas and defender Deividas Malžinskas.
35-year-old Armantas Vitkauskas has joined Banga after spending four seasons with FK Riteriai. Last season, he made 27 appearances and helped Riteriai secure the Pirma Lyga title, earning promotion back to the A Lyga.
Armantas previously spent almost nine seasons with FK Žalgiris, during which he won the A Lyga title four times and the Lithuanian Cup four times. This season, he is likely to reach the milestone of 300 games played in the A Lyga, as he currently has 293 appearances.
The goalkeeper began his career with FK Sūduva and played for FK Kauno Žalgiris. Additionally, he spent half a season in Romania in 2018.
25-year-old Deividas Malžinskas spent the last two seasons with FK TransINVEST. He helped the team secure promotion and win the Lithuanian Cup in his first year. Last season, he made 27 appearances in the A Lyga, providing two assists. He also played the full match in both TransINVEST’s UEFA Conference League qualifying games, marking the first European competitions in the club’s history. However, they suffered defeat on aggregate against Czech club Mlada Boleslav.
Previously, Deividas played for Vytis Vilnius and FK Riteriai, making his A Lyga debut with Riteriai in 2020.
