Riga FC has bolstered their midfield by signing Iago Siqueira, a 24-year-old Brazilian central midfielder, on a two-year contract. The club officially announced the transfer and welcomed Siqueira to the team ahead of their preparations for the 2025 Virslīga season.

Born on March 14, 2000, in Pirassununga, Brazil, Siqueira developed his skills at several Brazilian youth academies, including Corinthians, União Mogi, and Guarulhos. In 2019, he moved to Europe, playing in Portugal for Sertanense and Alvarenga, before returning to Brazil in 2023 to join Flamengo-SP.

Later in 2023, Siqueira signed with Ukrainian Premier League club Veres, where he made an impact by playing 42 matches, scoring four goals, and providing five assists. His performances caught the attention of Riga FC, who reportedly paid €350,000, according to Transfermarkt, to secure his services.

Siqueira’s signing addresses a critical need for Riga FC, as they look to rebuild their midfield following the departures of two key players, Miloš Jojić and Hrvoje Babec. The Latvian champions are rumored to still be in the market for another central midfielder during this transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder is expected to make his debut in a friendly match today against Sogdiana, where fans will get their first glimpse of Riga FC’s latest signing.
