Saveļjevs gets the assist in his debut in Romania

Latvian national team midfielder Aleksejs Saveļjevs made his debut today and assisted to a goal for his new team Gloria Bužau in the Romanian Liga 1. Gloria Bužau secured a 3-0 victory against Unirea Slobozia.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who signed with the Romanian side on Tuesday, started the match on the bench. He made his debut in the 65th minute when the score was 1-0 in favor of Gloria Bužau. Ten minutes after entering the game, Saveļjevs’ team doubled their lead.

In the 87th minute, he assisted to a goal by the 22-year-old Romanian winger Alexandru Jipa, which extended the home team’s lead by three goals. This victory marks Gloria Bužau’s first win in Liga 1 since November 30, when they beat Poli Iasi 2-0 at home.

With this win, Gloria Bužau is still at the bottom of the league table, but they have caught up in points with FC Botoșani. Saveļjevs and his team will next play on February 1, when they travel to Galați to face Otelul.
