Valmiera FC’s top scorer, Alioune Ndoye, has officially joined the Swiss Super League club Servette FC. The Senegalese forward has moved to the Swiss club on loan, with an option to buy.
Yesterday, we reported that Servette FC was interested in one of the top scorers in the Latvian league, Alioune Ndoye. Today, the club confirmed the signing of the 23-year-old forward.
Ndoye joined Valmiera FC in the summer of 2020. He made seven appearances in his first half-season with the team and scored twice. During the 2021 season, he missed the first part of the year due to an injury and managed to play only eight games, scoring four goals.
In the 2022 season, Valmiera FC surprisingly won the league title, but Ndoye was primarily used as a substitute. With players like Raimonds Krollis and Djibril Gueye ahead of him, he still made the most of his opportunities, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury that affected the start of his next season.
Last season, Ndoye enjoyed his first injury-free season, which proved to be a standout year. He scored 22 league goals in 32 games, finishing second in the top scorer list, just behind Reginaldo Ramires from Riga FC.
Over his career at Valmiera FC, Alioune Ndoye made 101 appearances and scored a total of 44 goals.
His new club, Servette FC, currently sits in fifth place in the Swiss Super League.
