FK Sūduva announced today that club legend and team captain Aleksandar Zivanovic will remain with the team for his ninth season. Additionally, Marijampole native Linas Zingertas has signed a contract that will keep him with the team until the end of the season.
The 37-year-old Aleksandar Zivanovic has been with Sūduva since 2017. The Serbian center-back played a crucial role during Sūduva’s golden years, contributing to the team’s success in winning two league titles and two Lithuanian Cup titles.
Last season, he made 34 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals. In total, Zivanovic has made 275 appearances for Sūduva, scoring 16 goals. Before joining Marijampole, Zivanovic played for various clubs in Serbia.
The other player staying for the 2025 season is 23-year-old winger Linas Zingertas. Linas, a native of Marijampole, returned to his home club in 2024 after spending half a season with TransINVEST. Last season, the former Lithuanian U-21 international made 19 appearances in the A Lyga but did not score any goals or provide any assists.
FK Sūduva Marijampole will play their first friendly match on Saturday against fellow A Lyga side DFK Dainava Alytus.
