Kalju win against RFS in a friendly

Rimi Olimpiskais Centrs hosted a pre-season friendly between FC RFS and Nõmme Kalju FC, with the visitors coming out as 2-1 winners from the tie.

The game kicked off with both sides creating opportunities, with Kalju’s goalkeeper Pavlov having to make a save from a Mor Talla shot in the 2nd minute. Kalju’s first shot came in the 4th minute, as Ivanov shot from 18 meters with pressure from defenders behind him, resulting in Šteinbors making a save. In the 21st minute, Latvian men’s Player of the Year Janis Ikaunieks missed a certain goal, hitting it wide of the goal by a few centimeters. The visitors got the lead in the 33rd minute through Nikita Ivanov, with Rommi Siht winning possession in midfield and crossing it onto the box from the right flank. RFS, after going behind, started putting on pressure, recording four shots in the final two minutes of the first half. One of which, was blocked off the line from Siht. The teams went to the half time break with Kalju leading.

Kalju got their second goal in the 52nd minute, after a long ranged effort from Patrikejevs hitting the woodwork, it was Tiago getting on the rebound and putting it into an almost empty net. RFS pulled one back in the 75th minute, with Sylla scoring after a corner kick. No more goals were scored in the game. Throughout the 90 minutes, RFS totaled 17 shots (6 on target) as opposed to Kalju’s 9 (3 on target).
