FK Kauno Žalgiris has announced the signing of their second Georgian player in two days. Center-back Anton Tolordava has signed a contract with the Lithuanian team.
The 28-year-old defender began his career with FC Telavi, where he spent three seasons and helped the club reach the Georgian top flight. He then moved to Estonia to play for Tallinn Levadia, winning the Estonian Cup in 2021.
After returning to Telavi for two seasons, Tolordava moved abroad again, joining the Serbian Super Liga club Radnicki Niš, where he made only eight appearances. His next stop was Kazakhstan, where he played for Shakhter Karagandy. He started last season with the Kazakhstani club, but midway through the season, he returned to Telavi after a two-year break, serving as team captain and playing 20 games across all competitions, scoring four goals.
Yesterday, we reported that Kauno Žalgiris has signed Temur Chogadze, a fellow Georgian who, interestingly, was a teammate with Tolordava in Kazakhstan and Telavi.
FK Kauno Žalgiris’s first pre-season match will be against FK Panevėžys on January 18.
