FK Liepāja has announced the signing of Rūdolfs Meļķis, who joins the team after several successful years with FK Grobiņa. Rūdolfs will be reuniting with his brother, Roberts, at FK Liepāja.

The 20-year-old defender had an impressive season last year, making 35 appearances in his first Virslīga season. He scored three goals and provided two assists. A product of the Liepāja football school, Rūdolfs joined Grobiņa in 2022.

After facing challenges last year fielding three Latvian players in the squad from time to time, FK Liepāja has made significant changes this offseason by signing nine new Latvian players. Alongside Rūdolfs, new additions to the team include Dāvis Ošs, Vjačeslavs Isajevs, Bruno Melnis, Vladislavs Sorokins, Kirils Iļjins, Aleksandrs Molotkovs, Oskars Vientiess, and Marks Pačepko, who have all joined in recent days.
