Žalgiris Kaunas are continuing their preparations for the 2025 season and are looking ahead to the future, as they added two young and promising Lithuanian players to their squad.

The A lyga bronze medalists have signed contracts with 20-year-old Eduardas Jurjonas and 19-year-old Tautvydas Burdzilauskas, whose older brother Ernestas joined the team last week.

E.Jurjonas, who plays for the Lithuanian U-21 national team, represented the Be1 team last season, where he finished second in Pirma lyga. In 15 matches, he scored 5 goals and provided 5 assists. At only 16 years old, the left-back made his A lyga debut with Banga. He later grew in the Be1 academy, spent half a season with the youth team of Italy’s Salernitana, and was loaned to Kalamata in Greece for the 2024 season.

T.Burdzilauskas, also a member of the Lithuanian U-21 national team, is moving to Kaunas from FK Sūduva. The right-back also made his debut in A lyga at 16 years old, and has since established himself as a key player of the team over the past two years. Last season, Tautvydas Burdzilauskas played 30 matches in the country’s top league, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists. In July, the Marijampolė native was also named the best young player of the month in A Lyga.
