FC Džiugas Telšiai announced this morning via social media that their top goal-scorer, Nino Noordanus, has left the team following a successful season in the A Lyga. He is expected to be soon announced as the new player for the defending Slovenian league champions NK Celje.
The 23-year-old Dutch forward signed with Džiugas before the start of the 2024 season after spending a year in Latvia with FK Liepāja, where he scored seven goals in 25 appearances.
Last season was the best of Nino’s professional career. He made an impressive debut for Telšiai fans by scoring the game-winning goal in the season opener against FK TransINVEST. Following that match, he became the team’s primary striker. He capitalized on this role, finishing the season with 14 goals in 36 games across all competitions, making him the team’s top goal-scorer.
NK Celje also has a talented Lithuanian forward, Armandas Kucys, who is under contract but has been sidelined for an extended period due to injury.
