FC RFS announced today that they have signed a long-term deal with Mor Talla Gaye, a former player of Riga FC and FK Auda. The Senegalese winger has signed a three-year contract with the Latvian Virslīga champions.
The 25-year-old first arrived in Latvia in 2022 when he joined FK Auda from his local club, FC Diambars. He missed the first part of that season due to an injury, but upon his return, he played a crucial role in helping FK Auda win their first major silverware—the Latvian Cup—by defeating RFS 1-0 in the final, where Mor Talla played the entire match.
In the following season, he was loaned to Riga FC, where he once again won the Latvian Cup, but his performance was not enough to secure a permanent move to the prominent Rīga club. However, last season marked a breakthrough for him. Mor Talla was one of the key players for FK Auda, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists in 42 matches across all competitions. He helped the team finish third in the league, reach the Latvian Cup final, and advance to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
FC RFS has begun preparations for the upcoming UEFA Europa League matches against Ajax and Dynamo Kyiv. Last season, the Latvian side achieved a local double, winning both the Virslīga and the Cup, and for the first time in their history, they reached the UEFA Europa League phase. Mor Talla Gaye and another newcomer, Yukoyoshi Karashima, will be unable to participate in the last two Europa League phase matches.
