Gambian football journalist Foday Manneh has posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), that Paide Linnameeskond striker Abdoulie Ceesay is set to join St. Pauli on the Bundesliga.

Manneh announced on his social media channels, that the soon-to-be 21-year old striker is set to become a FC St. Pauli player. “It is a DONE DEAL. There is an agreement between clubs and personal terms have not been an issue as well”, he stated.

Paide’s sporting director Gert Kams has stated to Soccernet.ee, that there has been a lot of interest for the Gambian striker, but he hadn’t specified anything in his comments. Kams has also confirmed, that in case of a deal, Ceesay’s current club Paide will also be getting financial benefits from the deal.

Ceesay joined the middle-Estonian team this summer on loan from Gambian Real de Banjul. In the half a season spent in Estonia, the striker played in 17 games across all competitions, finding the net on 14 occasions and assisting his team mates 5 times.

FC St. Pauli were promoted to the Bundesliga this season, currently sitting 14th in the table out of 18 clubs with 14 points. The Estonian national team captain and Estonian Men’s player of the Year, Karol Mets, is also playing for the Hamburg based team.
