FK Auda has made two announcements regarding its squad for the upcoming 2025 Virslīga season. Goalkeeper Krišjānis Zviedris, one of the team’s standout performers this season, has extended his contract, while Croatian defender Petar Bosančić will be leaving the club following the expiration of his agreement.
FK Auda confirmed that Krišjānis Zviedris will remain with the team for the 2025 season. The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who joined FK Auda at the start of 2024, has been instrumental for the club so far, playing 33 matches across all competitions and accumulating 3,060 minutes on the pitch.
Reflecting on the decision, Zviedris expressed optimism for the future:
I’m happy to represent FK Auda again next season. We had a tough and long season that could have been even better with a bit more luck. I believe we can achieve greater results, and that will be our shared goal in 2025. I thank the club for their trust and promise to do everything I can to improve the team’s performance.
His efforts helped secure a third-place finish in Virslīga, a spot in the Latvian Cup final, and a strong run in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, where the team narrowly missed advancing to the playoff stage.
Before joining FK Auda, Zviedris had stints with FK Liepāja, FK Atlantas Klaipėda, and Seinajoki SJK, winning two Latvian Cups in 2017 and 2020.
While Zviedris’ contract extension brought good news, FK Auda also announced that Petar Bosančić, a key figure in the latter half of the season, will be leaving the club.
The 28-year-old Croatian center-back joined FK Auda during the summer transfer window and quickly became a mainstay in the starting lineup. He played 21 matches, including pivotal appearances in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, Virslīga, and the Latvian Cup. His leadership were a model for the squad, and he even found the net once in the league.
The club expressed gratitude for Bosančić’s contributions:
Petar played a massive role in our team during the most critical part of the season. His leadership and discipline were exemplary. We thank him for his dedication and wish him great success in his career ahead, hoping to meet again in European football.
