FCI Levadia has signed a contract extension with a player from their championship core. The domestic double winners confirmed that 29-year-old midfielder Aleksandr Zakarlyuka will stay with the club for the upcoming season.

Zakarlyuka joined Levadia in 2023 after spending five and a half years with JK Narva Trans. Last season, he made 18 appearances in the Premium Liiga, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The midfielder has played 200 matches in the Estonian top flight, netting 39 goals.

“I am happy to extend my cooperation with Levadia! The goals for the new season are even bigger—I want to help the team achieve our objectives,” Zakarlyuka stated on Levadia’s website.

Club president Viktor Levada remarked, “The goal was to keep the team together for the new year, and we have taken another step toward achieving that. I wish Zaka and the team much success and happiness in the new, exciting season!”

With this contract extension secured, Levadia has now resigned captain Rasmus Peetson, goalkeepers Karl Andre Vallner and Oliver Ani, defenders Edgar Tur, Ken Kallaste, and Henri Järvelaid, as well as midfielders Mihkel Ainsalu, Joao Pedro, Brent Lepistu, Alexandre Lopes Gomes, Richie Musaba, Frank Liivak, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, and striker Robert Kirss, who will all continue with the club for the new season. Additionally, former Tartu Tammeka defender Tanel Tammik has joined the team.
