Estonia international Markus Soomets has completed a move from Norway’s Start to Danish second-tier side Kolding, the clubs have confirmed.
The 26-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract and said he is looking forward to the challenge in Denmark. “Kolding is an ambitious club with excellent conditions, an exciting project and a strong culture,” Soomets told the club website. “I’m really motivated to work hard and show what I can bring to the club.”
Kolding finished sixth in Denmark’s 1st Division last season. They have opened the new campaign with two draws and two defeats, leaving them ninth in the 12-team table after four matches, and travel to bottom side Køge on 23 August.
Soomets joined Start in the summer of 2025 and helped the club finish second in Norway’s second tier to secure promotion. In the current Eliteserien season, he has made 11 appearances, starting three times and coming off the bench in eight matches.
