Paide have completed the signing of 20-year-old Colombian winger Juan Sebastián Palacios Murillo on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Palacios will wear the number 23 shirt for the Premium liiga club and arrives after a spell in Brazil with Fluminense, where he featured for the club’s Under-20 side. He played 19 matches at that level and scored twice.
The winger also has youth international experience. Palacios was part of Colombia’s squad at the South American Under-17 Championship in early 2023, making three group-stage appearances against Uruguay, Ecuador and Chile.
Paide sporting director Gert Kams said the signing would add fresh options in attack. “Juan Palacios is a young and promising winger whose biggest strengths are speed, sharpness and the ability to beat an opponent in one-v-one situations,” Kams said. “His arrival gives our attacking play more depth, quality and different options in the final third.”
Palacios said he had settled quickly in Estonia and was encouraged by the environment at the club. “I’ve been welcomed very well in Estonia and from the first day I felt good here and at home,” he said. “In Paide there are very good conditions for training and development and for taking the next step as a player. I will wear the Paide shirt and badge with great commitment, always give my maximum on the pitch, and help the team achieve its goals.”
